Building a cooperative dedicated to dealer success since 1972
Then & Now
What started as five dealers pooling resources has grown into a powerful cooperative serving hundreds of dealerships nationwide. Today, we combine 50+ years of partnership expertise with modern systems that deliver unprecedented value.
Built By Dealers, For Dealers
In 1972, a Marshfield dealership owner faced rising Detroit prices on car parts. The solution? Cooperative purchasing. Five dealers joined forces, drafted bylaws, and registered with Wisconsin—creating a dealer-owned solution built by dealers, for dealers. With WATDA endorsement, membership exploded to 200+ dealerships within two years. By the 1980s, Wisco served 400+ locations and built our Marshfield facility. Geographic reach expanded across multiple states through the 1990s and 2000s. A website launched in 2000, though orders stayed phone-based. Operational excellence became our hallmark—supporting over $30 million annually with just nine staff through vendor-direct partnerships.
Modern Systems & Value Solutions
The last five years mark our most aggressive transformation. Fully integrated online ordering launched in 2023, replacing decades of phone processes. Major system investments deliver unprecedented accuracy, service, and transparency. Value-added services now connect members with industry experts—the Wisco Select program with Midwest Equipment Specialists outfits garages with cutting-edge solutions. DSI Automotive provides access to tens of thousands of aftermarket parts. Every vendor is carefully vetted, and members benefit from aggressive cooperative pricing backed by collective buying power. These partnerships solve complex challenges and deliver best-in-class results.
What Never Changes
100% Member-Owned
What will never change is our foundation: complete member ownership. Each of our nine Wisco districts is represented by an elected Board of Directors who ensure financial health and provide guidance through industry changes. The board reviews every membership application to maintain our standard of integrity. Once approved, a dealer purchases $1,000 in cooperative stock, and the doors to savings open.
Collective Buying Power
Our cooperative model delivers real financial benefits. Members save on every purchase through competitive pricing, then receive year-end patronage rebates based on their purchasing volume. The more you buy, the more you save. Our vendor-direct partnerships and carefully vetted service providers ensure quality products and expert solutions, all backed by the aggressive pricing only possible through collective buying power. Every dollar spent with Wisco works harder for your dealership.

Few words can convey our gratitude to the partners who deliver value to Wisco members every day.
